QR Code Scanner
Scan a QR code from an image or with your camera, right in the browser. Decode links, Wi-Fi codes and text — free, private, no app.
About the QR Code Scanner
Scan any QR code without installing an app. Upload a photo or screenshot that contains a QR code, or point your device's camera at one, and the decoded content appears instantly — a clickable link if it is a URL, or plain text you can copy with one click.
The upload mode solves the problem phone scanners cannot: reading a QR code that is on your own screen. Screenshots of tickets, codes in PDFs, images sent over WhatsApp — save the image, drop it here, done. The camera mode scans live, several times a second, and stops automatically the moment a code is found.
Decoding runs completely in your browser using JavaScript — the image and the camera feed never leave your device. That matters for QR codes on tickets, invoices and private documents. It is also a safe way to preview where a suspicious QR code leads before you open the link.
How to Use the QR Code Scanner
- 1Choose a tab: Upload Image for a photo or screenshot, or Use Camera to scan live.
- 2For uploads, drop in any image containing a QR code; for camera, allow access and point it at the code.
- 3Read the decoded result — URLs become a clickable link, and everything can be copied.
- 4Check the link before opening it if the QR code came from an untrusted source.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I scan a QR code that is on my own phone or computer screen?
Take a screenshot of the QR code, then open this tool and upload the screenshot in the Upload Image tab. The decoder reads it instantly — no second device needed. This works for tickets in emails, codes in PDFs, and QR codes friends send you in chat apps.
Can I scan a QR code from a picture in my gallery?
Yes. Tap the upload area, pick the photo from your gallery, and the code is decoded in about a second. Blurry or angled photos usually still work as long as the full code is visible; if scanning fails, try a sharper photo taken more straight-on with the whole square in frame.
Is this QR scanner safe for private codes like tickets?
Yes. The image is decoded by JavaScript running in your browser — it is never uploaded, stored or logged anywhere. The camera feed likewise stays on your device. For extra caution with unknown codes, this tool shows you the decoded URL as text first, so you can inspect it before clicking.
Why is no QR code found in my image?
The most common causes are blur, low resolution, glare covering part of the code, or the code being cut off at an edge. All three corner squares must be visible. Try a larger or sharper image, crop the photo so the QR code fills more of the frame, and make sure nothing overlaps it.
Can it scan Wi-Fi QR codes?
Yes — it decodes the raw content of any standard QR code, including Wi-Fi codes, which appear in the form WIFI:S:NetworkName;T:WPA;P:password;;. You can read the network name and password directly from the result and copy them, even though a website cannot join the network for you automatically.
