Sign PDF

Sign a PDF free — draw or type your signature and place it on any page with adjustable size and position. Private, in your browser, nothing uploaded.

About the Sign PDF

Add a signature to a PDF without printing or scanning. Draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or touchscreen, or type your name and have it rendered in a handwriting-style font. Then choose the page, corner and size, and the signature is stamped onto the document.

It is ideal for signing contracts, forms, letters and approvals quickly. The signature is embedded as an image with pdf-lib, so the result is a normal PDF you can email or archive.

Everything happens on your device — the PDF and your signature are never uploaded. Note that this adds a visible signature image; it is not a cryptographic digital signature or certificate, which needs dedicated e-signature software.

How to Use the Sign PDF

  2. 2Draw your signature or type your name to generate one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a legally binding digital signature?

It places a visible signature image on the page, which is what most everyday agreements need. It is not a cryptographic digital signature backed by a certificate — for that level of assurance, use dedicated e-signature software such as Adobe Sign or DocuSign.

Can I draw as well as type my signature?

Yes. Draw freehand with a mouse, trackpad or finger on a touchscreen, or switch to typing your name and have it rendered in a handwriting-style font. Either way it is placed as an image.

Where can I put the signature?

Choose any page and a position such as bottom-right or bottom-left, then adjust the size. You can run the tool again to add the signature to more than one page.

Is my document uploaded?

No. The signature is added entirely in your browser with pdf-lib, so both your PDF and signature stay on your device.
