PDF Overlay

Overlay one PDF or image onto another free — stamp a logo, letterhead or watermark page with position and opacity. Private, in your browser.

About the PDF Overlay

Layer one file on top of another PDF. Use the first page of an overlay PDF — or a PNG/JPG image — as a stamp, and place it over every page or a selected range of your base document. Control the position, how large it appears and its opacity, so you can add a letterhead, logo, draft stamp or background.

It is handy for branding a batch of pages, applying a consistent header graphic, or laying a semi-transparent watermark across a document. The overlay is embedded into each chosen page with pdf-lib, so the result is a real, selectable PDF.

Everything runs on your device — neither file is uploaded, and there are no watermarks added by the tool or page limits.

How to Use the PDF Overlay

  1. 1Upload the base PDF you want to stamp.
  2. 2Upload the overlay PDF or image, and set position, size and opacity.
  3. 3Choose which pages to apply it to.
  4. 4Click Apply Overlay and download the combined PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a PDF or an image as the overlay?

Both. If you upload a PDF, its first page is used as the stamp; if you upload a PNG or JPG image, that image is placed instead. Either can be positioned, scaled and made semi-transparent.

How do I make the overlay semi-transparent?

Set the opacity slider below 100% — for example 20-30% for a subtle background watermark, or 100% for a solid logo. The opacity applies to the whole overlay on every selected page.

Can I apply the overlay to only some pages?

Yes. Enter a page range such as 1,3-5 to stamp just those pages, or leave it blank to apply the overlay to the entire document.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Both files are combined entirely in your browser with pdf-lib, so they never leave your device.
