Pakistan Mobile Balance Tax Calculator
Calculate how much balance you actually get on a mobile card load in Pakistan after withholding tax and GST — Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone. Rates editable.
About the Pakistan Mobile Balance Tax Calculator
Load a Rs. 100 card in Pakistan and you never get Rs. 100 of balance — advance withholding tax (WHT) is deducted the moment you recharge, and GST/FED is charged again as you spend the balance on calls, SMS and data. This calculator shows exactly where your money goes on Jazz, Zong, Telenor and Ufone loads.
Enter any recharge amount to see the balance credited, the tax deducted, and the effective total deduction including usage tax. There's also a reverse mode: tell it the balance you actually need, and it tells you how big a card to load.
Every rate is editable — the defaults (15% withholding tax and ~19.5% provincial GST, 18.5% FED in Islamabad) reflect commonly applied rates, but telecom taxes change with almost every federal and provincial budget, so adjust them to match the latest notification. If you're a tax filer, the withholding tax is adjustable against your annual return.

- 1Enter the card or Easyload amount, e.g. 100.
- 2Adjust the withholding tax rate and pick your province for the GST default.
- 3Read the balance received, tax deducted and effective deduction percentage.
- 4Use the reverse section to find how much to load for a target balance.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much tax is deducted on a 100 rupees card in Pakistan?
At the default 15% withholding tax, a Rs. 100 load credits about Rs. 86.96 of balance — roughly Rs. 13 deducted upfront. GST (~19.5%) then applies as you use the balance, so the effective usable value is around Rs. 72–73.
How much balance do I get on a 1000 rupees load?
With 15% WHT, a Rs. 1,000 recharge credits about Rs. 869.57. To receive a full Rs. 1,000 balance you would need to load roughly Rs. 1,150 — the reverse calculator does this math for any amount.
Can I get the mobile withholding tax back?
If you're a filer (on the Active Taxpayers List), the WHT deducted on your SIM is adjustable against your annual income tax — it appears in your FBR tax deduction certificate from the operator. Non-filers cannot claim it.
Is the tax the same on Jazz, Zong, Telenor and Ufone?
The withholding tax is a federal levy so it's identical across operators. GST/FED on usage depends on your province, not the operator. Operators may differ in extra service/maintenance charges on bundles, which this tool doesn't include.
Why do the default rates in this calculator change over time?
Telecom taxes are revised in federal and provincial budgets — WHT has moved between 10% and 15% in recent years. All rates here are editable so you can always match the current rules.
