Watermark Image

Add a text or logo watermark to any image online. Control position, size, opacity, rotation and tiling — all in your browser, free and private.

About the Watermark Image

Protect your photos and brand your content with this free watermarking tool. Choose a text watermark — your name, © notice or website — or upload a logo PNG, then control exactly how it appears: nine anchor positions or a full tiled repeat, plus sliders for opacity, size and rotation. A live preview shows the result as you adjust.

The watermark is composited onto the image at full original resolution using the HTML canvas, entirely in your browser. Your photos and logo are never uploaded to any server, which makes this safe for client work, unpublished photography and product images.

For serious protection, use the tiled mode at low opacity with a slight rotation — a single corner watermark is easy to crop out, but a diagonal repeat across the whole image is not. Download the result as PNG for maximum quality or JPG for smaller files.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a watermark to a photo for free?

Upload the photo here, type your watermark text or upload a logo, position it, and download. There is no signup, no watermark-on-your-watermark, and the image never leaves your browser.

What opacity should a watermark be?

40–60% is the usual sweet spot: clearly visible without ruining the photo. For subtle branding use 20–30%; for strong copy protection use tiled mode at 25–40% with rotation.

Where should I place a watermark so it can't be cropped out?

Corners are easiest to crop away. Use the Center position over the main subject, or better, the Tiled mode which repeats the mark diagonally across the entire image.

Does watermarking reduce image quality?

The watermark is drawn at your image's native resolution, so nothing is downscaled. Choose PNG output for pixel-perfect quality, or JPG at 92% quality for a much smaller file with virtually no visible loss.

Can I use a transparent logo as the watermark?

Yes — a PNG logo with transparency works best. The tool preserves its alpha channel and applies your chosen opacity on top, so the logo blends naturally into the photo.
