What's the difference between quality mode and target size mode?
Quality mode applies the same compression level (e.g. 70%) to every image, so results vary in size. Target mode compresses each image until it is at or below your chosen KB value — useful for upload limits like '200 KB max per photo'.
Does compressing reduce image dimensions?
Quality mode keeps the original dimensions and only re-encodes the pixels. In target-size mode the library may also scale very large images down slightly when that's the only way to reach the requested size.
Why did one of my files barely shrink?
Images that are already heavily compressed (or PNG screenshots with few colors) have little left to squeeze. The results table shows the exact savings per file so you can spot these — the original is kept if compression would fail.
Can I compress PNG files in bulk?
Yes. PNGs are accepted and compressed; for photos, letting the tool convert toward JPG-style compression saves far more. Graphics with transparency stay as PNG to preserve the alpha channel.
