No. The neural network that separates the subject from the background executes inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your photo never leaves your device — only the AI model itself is downloaded, once, and then cached. That makes the tool safe for private photos, ID pictures and unreleased product shots.
Why is the first image slow?
On first use your browser downloads the AI model, which is roughly 40 MB — on a typical connection that takes 10–60 seconds. The model is then cached by your browser, so subsequent images usually process in a few seconds. A progress bar shows exactly what is happening during the download.
How do I make an image background transparent for free?

What kinds of photos work best?
Photos with a clear main subject and reasonable contrast against the background give the cleanest cutouts — portraits, product shots and pets all work very well. Very busy scenes, semi-transparent objects like glass, and wispy hair against a similar-colored background are the hardest cases and may need minor touch-up afterwards.
Does it work on mobile browsers?
