Love Calculator

Enter two names and get a fun love compatibility percentage with an animated heart — a classic love calculator, just for entertainment.

About the Love Calculator

This free love calculator takes two names and turns them into a compatibility score from 1% to 100%, complete with an animated heart that fills up as the number counts in. The same pair of names always gives the same result, so you and your friends can compare scores — swapping the order of the names doesn't change anything.

To be completely clear: this is an entertainment tool, not science. The percentage is generated from the letters in the names using a simple mathematical formula. It cannot predict, measure or influence real relationships in any way — real compatibility comes from communication, shared values and time together, not from character codes.

It's still great fun at parties, in class, in group chats and on long car rides. Calculate your score, read the playful verdict, then copy the ready-made share text and send it to the person in question — if you dare.

How to Use the Love Calculator

  1. 1Type the first person's name in the first box.
  2. 2Type the second person's name in the second box.
  3. 3Click "Calculate love score" and watch the heart fill up.
  4. 4Read your verdict and copy the share text to send to friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the love calculator real or accurate?

No — it is purely for entertainment. The percentage is produced by a mathematical hash of the letters in the two names, so it has zero scientific basis and cannot say anything about a real relationship. Genuine compatibility depends on communication, trust and shared values, none of which can be measured from a name. Enjoy it as a game, nothing more.

Why do the same two names always give the same score?

The calculator is deterministic: it normalizes both names (ignoring capitalization and spaces), combines them and runs the result through a fixed hashing formula. Because the formula never changes, the same pair always produces the same percentage — and swapping the order of the names makes no difference. That consistency is what makes it fun to compare scores with friends.

Does changing how I spell a name change the result?

Yes. Since the score is calculated from the exact letters, "Jon" and "John" or "Kate" and "Katie" count as different names and will usually produce different percentages. Capitalization, spaces and punctuation are ignored, but any change to the letters themselves changes the hash and therefore the score.

Are the names I enter stored or sent anywhere?

No. The entire calculation runs in JavaScript inside your browser — the names are never transmitted to a server, logged or saved. Close or refresh the page and they are gone. You can even load the page, disconnect from the internet and the calculator still works, which proves nothing leaves your device.

What do the different score ranges mean?

The tool sorts results into playful tiers: under 30% suggests you might be better as friends, 30–49% shows a spark that needs work, 50–69% is promising, 70–89% is a great match, 90–99% is practically soulmates, and a perfect 100% earns the legendary verdict. The messages are jokes written for fun — please don't make life decisions based on them.
