Forex Pip Calculator
Calculate the value of a pip for any forex position size. Free pip calculator showing pip value per lot and the profit or loss on a move.
About the Forex Pip Calculator
A pip is the smallest standard price move in a currency pair — usually the fourth decimal place (0.0001), or the second decimal (0.01) for pairs quoted in yen. This free forex pip calculator works out how much one pip is worth for your position size, so you know exactly what each price move means for your account.
Pip value depends on the pair, the lot size and your account currency. For a pair quoted in your account currency, pip value = (pip size ÷ exchange rate) × position size. A standard lot is 100,000 units, a mini lot 10,000 and a micro lot 1,000. The calculator multiplies pip value by the number of pips moved to show your profit or loss.
Forex traders use pip value to size positions and set stop-losses in money terms rather than abstract pips. This is a general educational tool, not trading advice — leveraged trading carries a high risk of loss. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is pip value calculated?
For a standard lot (100,000 units) of a pair like EUR/USD where the quote currency is your account currency, one pip (0.0001) is worth 100,000 × 0.0001 = 10 units of the quote currency. For other pairs, divide by the exchange rate to convert into your account currency.
What is a pip in forex?
A pip (percentage in point) is the standard unit of price change, normally the fourth decimal place: EUR/USD moving from 1.1050 to 1.1051 is a one-pip move. For yen pairs it is the second decimal, so USD/JPY moving 150.00 to 150.01 is one pip.
How much is a pip worth on a micro lot?
A micro lot is 1,000 units, so a pip is worth 1,000 × 0.0001 = 0.10 in the quote currency for most pairs — one tenth of the mini-lot value and one hundredth of a standard lot. Micro lots let beginners trade with small risk.
Why does pip value change with the exchange rate?
When the quote currency is not your account currency, each pip must be converted back at the current rate, so as that rate moves the money value of a pip shifts slightly. The calculator recomputes this for the rate you enter.
